Interior and Exterior Protection
At Commander Premier, our aircraft's beauty is more than skin deep, inside and out. Designed by Commander
Premier acoustical engineers, our unique five-layer insulating process helps reduce cabin noise to a minimum. The exterior skin is aircraft quality Alclad aluminum. The first interior layer consists of acoustical foam with an aluminum foil backing. The second layer consists of a microlite insulation material for superior temperature control. The third layer is acoustical foam in the thickness most effective for sound and vibration reduction. The fourth layer consists of flame-retardant, thermoplastic material which provides a pre-formed interior shell. The fifth layer is the finest foam-backed leather, which absorbs reflected sound and provides a luxurious look and feel to the occupants. Together, these materials form an extremely effective composite to reduce noise and vibration.

Commander Premier uses an extensive exterior finishing and paint process to accomplish its renowned ramp appeal. First, all exterior skin seams and joints are sealed with Chem Seal to ensure a smooth finish on the aircraft. It is then scuffed-sanded to remove any traces of oxidation from the skins for better paint adhesion. To remove any other oil based substances or residue, the skin is washed with alkaline solution and rinsed with water. An acid solution is applied to the skin to etch any remaining oxidation which may have formed. Alodine type conversion coating is sprayed and rinsed to give the aluminum a protective finish. Two coats of Epoxy Primer are sprayed and allowed to cure. The primer is then scuffed with fine sandpaper and scotchbright pads and wiped clean of dust and residue. A wet tack coat is applied, followed by two coats of the finest Polyurethane Paint. Polyurethane trim stripes are then applied to complete the distinguished look of all Commander aircraft.
This attention to quality materials and finish will protect you and your aircraft investment for many years to come.
